Welcome to my site, please look around to learn a bit about me, and leave a comment letting me know what you think.
As you saw on the home page, my name is Sam and I love working on technical projects. I also have a passion for creativity and learning. Right now I am pursuing those drives in a few different ways: working full time at a medical device R&D company in Woburn, MA, as well as making progress on a masters degree in mechanical engineering at Tufts. Needless to say, I'm pretty busy!
What is the point of being busy without sharing your work with others? If you ask me, there is no point! That's why I have this site - to showcase and share my projects and thoughts with those who get enjoyment from viewing cool projects.
What's on my mind right now? I'm in a pretty cool class focused on Human-Machine Systems. We are studying the design and implementation of human-machine interaction, automation opportunities, signal detection, and much more. Being a mechanical engineer, this class has got me thinking of very physical human-machine interactions. This paper published on the NASA website explores the importance of physical feedback to a human user in applications of machine amplified strength. A great human-machine interface with the goal of expanding a humans capabilities should, at it's core, still feel human. An extension of one's self. I think this idea is pretty neat and I hope to be able to implement it into a design of mine soon!
