Information Architecture
Information Flow
The structure of my site takes a "most to least" important approach based on my needs, as well as my user persona's needs. My assumption is that most, if not all viewers, will be in a technical field similar to my own. When browsing the site in this capacity, the most relevant information will be my blog (current thoughts and engagements), followed by my technical qualifications (resume and portfolios).
I chose to split my portfolio into two: one for my mechanical engineering endeavors and another for my user design experience. This will help viewers find their way to their most relevant interests the fastest.
I also chose to split ENP 162 related items into its own separate series of pages. My hope is that keeping this content labeled separately and explicitly will make my life easier as I grow this page, and my professor and peer's lives easier as they navigate to relevant content.
Finally, I have a separate section for my photography. While interesting (at least to me), I did not want this content to distract from the main purpose of this site. My main goal for this site is to provide insight into my professional interests and qualifications, while giving a glimpse of my personality throughout.
